Quick Answer
Buy land first, then the watering can upgrade, then the seeder machine, then the spreader and combine, then the greenhouse and beehives, and prestige upgrades last. This order maximises coins-per-hour at every stage of the game.
The complete upgrade priority list
Tier 1 — Foundation (buy immediately)
- Land plots — every new tile compounds all future earnings. Buy the cheapest expansion as soon as you can afford it.
- Watering can upgrade — reduces the daily watering chore and speeds up growth on every tile you own.
Tier 2 — Automation (buy by week 2)
- Seeder machine — plants an entire plot in one pass. Saves minutes every day on large farms.
- Better seeds — unlocking mid-tier crops (tomato, cabbage, potato) raises your coin-per-tile floor.
Tier 3 — Scale (buy by week 4)
- Spreader machine — distributes compost across a large area. Compost speeds up every crop on the field.
- Combine machine — harvests a mature block in seconds. This is the single biggest time-saver and income multiplier in the game.
- Compost bin — feeds the spreader and passively improves soil quality between planting cycles.
Tier 4 — Passive income (buy by week 6)
- Greenhouse — grows a batch of up to 10 crops at 0.5x speed regardless of season. Dedicate it to your highest-value seed.
- Beehives — 2–4 hives produce honey passively at roughly 18–36 seconds per jar. Honey sells for a steady price with zero replanting effort.
- Sprinklers — automate watering on tiles you visit least often.
Tier 5 — Endgame
- Prestige upgrades — after your first full playthrough, prestige resets progress in exchange for permanent bonuses. Only worth it when your coin flow is stable and you've reached the million-coin milestone.
What NOT to buy early
- Supporter Pack DLC — cosmetic extras, not gameplay-critical
- Decorative items — no impact on coin income
- Multiple fruit trees of the same type — one tree of each type (apple, cherry, pear, lemon) is enough; plant more only when you have spare tiles
How the upgrade tree works
The shop's upgrade tree unlocks items progressively. Each tier requires coins and sometimes prerequisite purchases. The tree does not lock you out of lower-tier items — you can buy them at any time — but the efficient path is always land → tools → machines → infrastructure.
Real gameplay numbers
- A combine pass over mature sweetcorn produces 20x Sweetcorn plus plant waste
- A single mid-game contract pays around 2,436 coins
- A late-game session selling pumpkin, eggplant, sweetcorn, and strawberry together can exceed 240,000 coins
- The greenhouse grows any crop at 0.5x normal speed regardless of season
- Four beehives with Fill All and Collect All generate passive honey income without any replanting
